Carpet Tiles
The benefits of carpet tiles:
- Easy handling - rooms can be fitted in phases without the need to remove all the furniture
- Low wastage on fitting
- Tiles are fitted without the need for gripper rods or premanent adhesive
- High degree of sound (reduced echo) and heat insulation
- In the event of spillage damaged areas can easily be replaced. It is often possible to lift and wash affected carpet tiles under the tap!
- Individual worn areas (ie where office chairs are moved around) can be replaced rather than re flooring a whole room
- Borders and zones can be created using different colours without wastage or the need for thresholds
- Hard wearing
These benefits have made carpet tiles the preferred commercial flooring option.
There is a massive choice of designs and tile types, from budget low loop tiles to tufted broadloom-like products.
A recent innovation is the use of random pattern tiles which reduce wastage still further (most tiles have to be laid in one direction) and enable new tiles to be added to an area without any need to worry about batches or colour matching.
